ISQ - the objective way to measure implant stability. |
|
Despite the evolution of implant designs
and surfaces it will always be you, the treating doctor,
together with your patient, who makes the decision when
to load. It is a complex decision that involves not
only the patients’ wishes and general situation, but
of course also several odontological parameters. One
of the most important factors is the stability of the
implant.
The degree of implant stability is hard to determine
once the implant has started to integrate. Also, at
placement, stability is difficult to judge objectively
and the “tactile feeling” or torque measurements will
not work as a baseline for future comparisons.
The meters make it possible not only to
measure the initial implant stability, but also to monitor
the development of osseointegration over time.
